Privacy Policy

Project ANTE (“ANTE,” “we,” “us”) is a for-fun games platform that runs inside iMessage, with a companion website for managing your account. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we store it, and how you can delete it. ANTE uses a virtual, in-app coin system only — coins have no cash value and cannot be purchased or cashed out.

Information we collect

Account information: the display name and email address you provide at sign-up, and your password (stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash — we never store or see your actual password).
Gameplay and coin data: the results of games you play (e.g. Wordle outcomes, match results), your virtual coin balance, and your coin transaction history.
Limited technical data: your IP address is used transiently to rate-limit requests and protect against abuse, and we record timestamps on your records. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use your information

We use the data above only to:

create and authenticate your account;
run the games and operate the virtual coin economy;
show your stats and transaction history; and
keep the service secure and prevent abuse (e.g. rate limiting).

We do not sell or share your data

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Data is shared only with the infrastructure providers that host the service on our behalf (see below).

Where your data is stored and how it is protected

Account and gameplay data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. Traffic between the app/website and our backend is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes.

AVirtual coins

ANTE’s coins are a virtual in-app currency for entertainment only. They cannot be bought with real money, cannot be exchanged for real money or anything of cash value, and have no value outside the app. There is no real-money gaming in ANTE.

Data retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time — from inside the iMessage extension (Account → Delete account) or from the website dashboard. Deletion is immediate and real: it removes your account, coin ledger, and game history from our database (matches you created may be retained for the other players, with your identity removed). After deletion the email address is free to register again as a brand new account.

Children

ANTE contains simulated gambling and is rated 17+. It is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 17.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
